If anyone is paying attention to the fiction of real events, then can anyone really explain the phrase "the war on [insert noun]". Does that phrase do anything good for humanity's survival? There are a few other fictions of action that con the masses really well, such as; political philosophy (predecessor to political science), actionable intelligence (successor to credible threats), Karl Rove (Benito Mussolini), green products(relabeling from lite or consumable), conservative (fascist), gossip (public relations propaganda), and so on...(etc). They are products of euphemism. A devaluing of the impact of specific terms deemed critically important, or just look it up on wiki.
The phrase works as a device for rallying social support for some prescient threat. The war on terror phrase is an oxymoron, who has no idea how to wage a war. The war on drugs sets up a permanent class of oppressed people. The war on poverty is a non-starter topic meant to give the impoverished hope of relief, when is no intention of ever giving relief. The war on disease is a perpetual nightmare of forces for profit seeking to keep everyone sick or dying. The undeclared war on the middle class is the secret of the rich, who want nobody outside their group to know about. The war on the environment was discovered back in the late 1850's and shows no sign of ever ending, until we are extinct and can no longer cause harm. There is a war on truth, for it is the mortal enemy of lies and deceit. The last catch phrase of war is the war on humanity itself.
It has become vastly clear that due to our own ignorance of our capacity for war and destructive competition, we have lost the ability to stop ourselves from destroying ourselves. We can nuke ourselves into oblivion. We can poison ourselves into oblivion in so many different ways it is hard to know what poison is killing us. We can now starve ourselves into oblivion, because so much of our food is either inedible or relies on pollination. So, we have a myriad of ways to end humanity and the sad thing is many of us who can do something about it could care less about it. Is it because we have no feedback on those who are speaking out and doing something? Yes!
Suppression of news events about people making the effort to do right for humanity are largely ignored or said to be fringe thinkers. Marginalizing those who offer hope for humanity are being shouted down by the mass suicidalists or by those who want to earn profit at any cost, including the extinction of humanity. Yet, we are happy to go along with this madness.
When the phrase " ignorance is bliss" came into being, it was taken from a conversation that was between two corporate executives, whom were celebrating there release from custody after being convicted of killing thousands over a massive flood from a dam break. The original phrase was "their ignorance is our bliss". Injustice is partial to the rich and powerful, for they usually skirt most, if not all the injustice, for they create the injustice. It seems the new royalty of the twenty-first century are the global corporations that hold the most vital needs of supporting humanity. They are planning to erase humanity from the face of the Earth and they don't care if they do die with us.
